Principal's Message
Last week was very busy as we celebrated Catholic Education Week. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate across our Parishes with Fr Avinash, Parishioners, Columba, St John's, parents and the SFX Choir. To say our children had fun was an understatement. Our children shone as they participated in the Masses with reverence, taking in all Fr Avinash said. Below is an email Kathy and I received from a parent after the Mass at St John's and it sums up our children perfectly.
"Hi Bec, Just wanted to share some feedback and thanks to you all for today’s excursion to St John the Baptist in Koo Wee Rup. Both girls have been looking forward to going to another school and exploring, both have said such wonderful things all evening about today’s mass, telling their dad all the details when he got home from work! They loved the different songs and how responses were sung instead of spoken and how everyone was clapping and getting involved (they did mention that they only did it when SFX encouraged it because they have to be respectful in church which made me giggle) I actually thought it was really nice seeing the children from all the schools being joyful and active in praise as the choir performed. The entire group of F-2 children from St James sat so well and were so respectful and attentive throughout the entire mass, it was wonderful to see them demonstrating these values within such a large group of people and unfamiliar environment. Thanks for your hard work in putting this all together…Was a great morning!!"
Thanks to everyone who made our celebrations.
Kind regards, Bec Kollaris
